  • smoky wood, mint and cherries on the nose, silky textured, earthy palate, very much a mineral, stone and soil nuanced rouge, very dry, very drinkable, good structure, nice with chicken parmesan

  • Very pale. Charcoal embers, high char wood on the nose that is kind of sexy right off the bat. Light bodied and totally drowned out by the wood. Let's face it-even from a ripe vintage like 2009, it is the rare Loire Pinot that can handle this sort of oak treatment. This was not one of them. Hard to understand what was in the winemaker's mind given that the fruit is so fragile.
