  The wine had no aroma or taste in the first hour. But after an hour, it started to open up and begin to develop some tar, caramel and smokiness. After another hour, some eucalyptus, and mint. It changes every 15/20 minutes. So complex and so aromatic. All in all, very balance. What a wonderful wine.

  Nype på nese, klassisk moden nebbiolo, skog, sopp og jord. Fantastisk lukt. Åpen og fin. I munnen er det en helt annen vin; mørkere og kraftigere, tett frukt, bra med tanniner, tørrer ut litt og kjennes yngre ut enn 45 år. Noe kaffe/mocca og litt sjokoladetoner. Ok lengde. Ganske overraskende vil jeg si at denne fortsatt vil utvikle seg videre, positivt. Kjennes ut som om tanniner og frukt kan bli hakket mer balansert for at den skal bli optimal. For all del en veldig god vin og absolutt en god flaske, men jeg ville latt denne få noen år til på seg. Sparer en klunk i flasken og ser i morgen hvordan den har utviklet seg.

  Neb Knights Barolo Dinner (L'Apicio, NYC): [Double decanted at 4pm. Tasted around 8:30pm.] Dark brooding nose of black fruit and licorice. Slowly opening up. Tight and tart at first, but after some time in the glass, it is a glorious, classic Barolo with tar and cherries and something floral. Terrific! WOTN

  A beautiful nose with tar, a sense of minerality and mature fruit and secondary notes. This is in a perfect spot right now showing the complexity of age but still with fruit and hidden power. This is beautifully balanced, with understated power, elegance, tension and all beautifully balanced. It finishes very long and grows in power with time. Nothing stands out here, it just fits together. Gracefullyn statuesque and drinking at peak without any fear ongoing downhill soon. That sad I can't think of a reason to wait. Fantastic. Thanks Greg
