  • Day 1: Unctuous, deep rich gold colour, very sweet. On the palate, a honeyed flavour and texture. Upfront flavours of blackcurrant, like Ribena. Aftertaste leads into lime.

Day 2 - enjoyed with melon. The melon was not too sweet. The wine contains some effervescence, with the cork coming out with a fair bit of gas following hot on its heels.

Day 3 - a glass enjoyed on its own. Faint petrol whiff detected, with (confected) banana and citrus notes on the nose also, maybe melon too. The wine appears to be drying out a tad, and losing some of the sweetness, the acidity in the wine showing itself a touch, giving a bit of zip on the palate, noticeable on the back undersides of the tongue.

2nd of these bottles - the first drank some years back, in 2012. I wonder whether this can age longer, seeing the sweetness dry out? A lovely drop right now though, and tremendous value at the £7.99 they cost.

  • Cannot believe the value here - concentrated, citrus lime, a little minerality. Fantastic. 94
