  • Almost 5 years to the date since last open a bottle, what a difference. In 2013, it was relatively thin, wine didn't really open up, there was fruit. Fast forward to today (best about 2 hour decant), it shows its true Tuscan side, herbs / licorice to start, follow by refreshing acidity, then plummy cherry fruits shows, there's some grip to the tannin (slight grainy)... throw in hints of graphite somewhere along the way. Very enjoyable last bottle. Had 1/4 bottle left for Day 2 (recork & fridge), and its only a notch below Day 1. Probably good to drink for 2 more years? Not the best QPR, but would probably purchase a few bottles again. Gosh these Tuscan wine... it really takes about 7-9 years from vintage to show its true form

  • Consistent notes from before. Not my favourite wine at this price point can do much better.

  • I must have had the mutant fruit bottle of the entire vintage except for one other person. This is a full bodied monster. This wine was uncorked to an almost black stain. Served as a pop and pour. This bottle was blackberry and cassis in the nose with a hint of earth. The palate was full bodied blackberry, cassis, and earth. The middle was a lot of leather, earth, black pepper spice, and a HINT of raisin. This is where the brambly characteristics started showing. Finished with some heat, some oaky chewy tannins! A real pleasure of a wine. Very layered, yet due to the heat and at times very stiff tannins I think this one could benefit from 5 years of bottle time to integrate. There honestly really isn't much of a difference between this wine and a well made Napa Bordeaux blend to which lots of people give 93+ ratings, except for: 1. This one really is a 91, and 2. the price. Had an 07 not too long ago at another restaurant with a very similar experience. This bottle has an excellent QPR, and it has excellent cellaring potential. Just a word: The heat at the end was a little obnoxious at first, but after 30 minutes of bottle decanting it smoothed out - if you drink this one now, decant at least 30 minutes.

  • Had this after a couple classic vintage Bordeaux (1983 and 2000). Could tell this was much more new world design. Very fruit forward and not terribly complex. Agree with previous observations that the wine is a little thin. nose almost raisiny. OK but not sure about QPR.

  • A very good Super Tuscan. One of my favorites for the price. Solid crowd pleaser.
