Deep garnet color, plum and dark berry nose with some earthiness and a hint of smoke. Dark fruit present on the palette with hints of mocha and chocolate, good body, tannins firm but not obtrusive. Lingering finish that dries as it goes. Really a fine wine.

Rich purple color, dark fruit on the nose with a hint of smoke and vanilla. Well-balanced, the tannins are smooth but still lend good structure; nice fruit at the beginning, with good balance and a long finish. This is probably not going to get getter with additional aging, but it drinking very well right now. Served with grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, smashed redskin potatoes and grilled broccallini, or however it is spelled.

Wonderful bottle, the kind that you wish you'd kept longer once opened. Decanted for one hour while preparing dinner. Robust, delicious, The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and black currant (cassis). The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Even though it is an 05 it still needed a good amount of time to open up and show itself. Much better on day 2.
