  • Cherry, raspberry, earth, plum, a touch of brown sugar, a bit of mineral, and a whiff of smoke on the nose. Red cherry, plum, cranberry, earth, and a hint of herb on the palate. Low acidity, integrated tannins, medium finish. Hmm, the acidity seemed strangely low in this wine, which affected the wine's energy. The fruit profile seemed good overall though. I'm pretty sure that I tasted this back in the day, so I don't know what happened.

  • This wine was showing nicely tonight. A bit muted on the nose. Nice raspberry fruit with enough acid to provide balance. Long finish.

  • disappointing bottle. rather thin and seems to be a shell of itself. with hour air. not much difference.

  • I really wanted to like this wine more this time around. So many people with palates I respect have said good things about this wine. I found some nice complexity, just like the last time, but I still found the wine to be flabby. I gave this one plenty of time and oxygen and drink it over a few hours. Clearly this vineyard is just not for me.

  • My last bottle, this showed great tonight. I was a little worried when we first opened it, it was a bit thin and flat, with a nose of garden strawberry and a faint touch of cherry. The palate was a thin expression of cherry and other berry fruits. Opened at a restaurant as a PnP, as I vigorously swirled the wine it started to develop more fruit along with a wonderful toffee or caramel note on the nose, showing some richness with the fruit on the nose. The palate also developed some of this along with more weight and more intensity. My dad, who doesn't drink much wine, was the first to comment on the change it was that dramatic. I liked where it was going, putting on weight, the initially light structure getting more firm. The acidity showed a bit tart on the finish, could have been the food, but it was the only thing that stuck out as something I wasn't fully loving. The rest of the wine though, wonderful, great with a mushroom pizza.
