A private dinner (Ron Gastrobar, Amsterdam, Netherlands): Deep, rich, ripe fruit (raspberry) pepper and spice, quite dusty and cedary on the nose and somewhat farmyardy but clean; big (14.5%), velvety, powerful, quite rustic; good length. Not the most subtle of wines, a peasant rather than a nobleman but peasants are the mainstay of the nation and this is a muscular and sturdy one. Good prose rather than poetry.

Kruidig, lichte cassis, rood en zwart fruit, hoog in zuren en tannines, trekt ietsje droog achteraan.
