After 18 months from my last tasting, this Priorat has gained depth and complexity. These wines change in the glass over time as much as varietal. In the first 30 minutes, this wine is tannic but after an hour, the fruit nicely integrates into medium weight Priorat with notes of licorice and leather. After each hour, the dark fruit comes through and becomes more concentrated.

Decanted for 30 minutes and then enjoyed with dinner. On PNP, I was glad this was a mid-week wine but with a little air time (say 30 minutes) this wine really improved. Sour cherry, tobacco, earthy, black cherry on nose. Sour cherry, black cherry, leather primarily on palate with high acids, medium body and long finish with sweet tannins. I have limited experience but Priorat but this reminds me of an old school Brunello (maybe with a little more fruit). Continued to improve with airtime. 92+ This has improved markedly from my last tasting in 2009 of this wine.

More open than the 8/27/11 bottle but a touch less rich and sweet than the 5/08 bottle.

Thought really nice - excellent balance between fruit and oak. Bouquet was a bit muted.
