  In a good spot now, and perhaps for my palate, slightly on the other side of the slope in terms of freshness and spunk. However, this has a presence and sense of complex depth that holds interest. Oxidative and a little brassy at first, but unfolding with more intent with swirling in the glass. Olive oil, grilled lemon, and a slight pineapple rind hit make for a mature Chardonnay literally ripe and ready for consumption. Drink now. Sealed with natural cork (Jadot hadn’t moved to DIAM yet).

  Much better than the last bottle I had. This wine has the weight, complexity, and freshness all working together to showcase chevalier Montrachet. I’m a fan.

  Duck, duck, abortion!; 11/11/2023-11/17/2023: A bit of funked, deep yellow and bitter white fruits with a gently bitter, honied wax on the nose.
  
  Similar notes on the palate, dry and bittered wax. Fruits open up with time, showing a bit better integration.
  
  This was good but wished it had a bit more oomf in the freshness department. Delivery of flavor was there but lacked a bit of excitement for me.
