I found this one in the cellar and remembered it was tannic years back. Wow what a surprise! complex layer fruit. Voluptuous California style. One of those moments to cellar was fulfilling.

Wow, this wine is really in a good spot right now, too bad this is my last bottle !! The cork was perfect after over a decade in the bottle. I consumed this balanced Pinot Noir over two days. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Bright red fruit aromas of pomegranate and cherry, flavors of cranberry, bing cherry, cola, rhubarb, and black tea with a pleasant long finish. Popped and poured, this wine was great from the first taste but really benefited from gentle oxygen since it was much more soft & integrated on day two. Great fruit (115 and Pommard clones) with firm acidity made into a very balanced Pinot Noir from Sangiacomo Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast appellation just south of the town of Sonoma along Sonoma Creek. This Pinot Noir is an age worthy wine and may have more years of life remaining. Unfortunately, I have none of this vintage remaining in my cellar. A great winemaking effort from James MacPhail. I wish I had more to see what additional aging would do.

Very nice as usual! fruit with lovely grippy tannins and aromas and flavors of black cherry, oak and holiday spice balanced with a flip side showing cola and cocoa

A bit disappointing, but still good. Bit of funk on the nose and mid palate. Maybe a slightly off bottle?
