Bit of a forgotten bottle in my collection, and probably at its end of development, nice full spicy nose, dark colour with a feint amount of fading rim, and a lovely spicy mouthful, not complicated and a good food wine, I think I saved this before it downturned, enjoyable bottle with dinner over Christmas. Oh I see according to my cellar list there is possibly another bottle in there somewhere, will have to find it or it really will be forgotten, this is what happens when you move house.

PnP at dinner at home. Color of black cherry juice. Black cherry and butterscotch on the nose. Medium body. Extremely well rounded mouthfeel with very well integrated tannins. Notes of cherry, black licorice, vanilla and pepper. Long finish. Drinks well with spicy Mexican beans, eggs and tortillas.
This is drinking great 11 years after the vintage and 9 years after our purchase. Folks might want to think about extending their drinking windows for this wine. This is the 1st of 6 bottles so we'll see how it holds up going forward.

This was great from the first pour but it got even better after a 2-hour decant. Flinty black and purple fruit, tar, pen ink, cedar, smoke, and Asian spices erupt from the glass. The palate is ripe, briny, and tongue staining, and lifted by stout but ripe tannin, succulent acidity, and a decadently melted texture. Barossa Valley at its best. 92+
