  • Deep golden, with sweet scents taking you to lemon and also exotic fruit like mango. The nose could indicate residual sugar, but there is none as this is a dry wine. In the mouth it tastes a good deal drier than the aroma suggests. A fine harmony all the way through. With a bit of internal division, I finally settle on "outstanding." The residual rough acidity of the previous bottle is all gone.

  • Took it for a GV due to its floral aromas. Otherwise, some sweet fruit a la rhubarb. Light and elegant on the palate, and different from other vintages that have been quite heavy on the palate.

  • Deep golden - beyond the proverbial wedding ring, and a slight green tinge to boot. In the mouth it is notably viscous with good weight, but the acidity is a tad too rough for it to qualify as harmonious. The aromatics are clearly those of a mature Riesling, with sweetened lemon peel over hard cheese. Decent length. It's the somewhat rough acidity that makes me a little bit reserved here. I've had better from this address. (NOTE: I have calibrated my points to better fit the description of the 100-point scale - and not the inflated one mostly in use now.)

  • A beautifully complex wine that is drinking perfectly now. Rich and sweet initially in the mouth, the acidity cleans it out and leaves it dry. A wonderful success and went really well with the sweetness of red mullet.

  • Golden yellow. Aromas of ripe grapefruit and pineapple. Full bodied and masculine, and quite coarse and rancid, with high acidity. A bit disappointing for an Achleiten.
