Bordeaux styled blend of 59% Cabernet Franc and 41% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of blackberry, currant, smoke, oak and a touch of green pepper. Good dark fruit in the mouth. Ruby color with a slight white edge. Intergrated tannins provide an elegant mouthfeel. Lingering finsh.

Nearing the end of its useful life, but the nose is exceptional and the flavors are very, very mature. Enjoyable wine.

Yummy, perhaps a little too smooth. Probably a bit past its prime.

Cardinal Sept Wine Tasting (Cardinal Liquors and Wine, Crystal Lake, IL): Aromas/flavors of black currant, smoke and vanilla, with a touch of leather. Rich, and deep with fine dusty tannins. More bordeaux style than Cal. Cab. Rich and elegant, but not over ripe.
