As if more evidence were needed that Riesling is still a screaming bargain. This wine is in a beautiful place right now. With a decade plus in the bottle, the ripe 2003 vintage characteristics have evolved and taken on depth and nuance. Tightwire balance, richer than your average kabinett with stone fruits to accompany its slate and petrol notes. Just delicious.

Not faded in the least - on the contrary, a delightfully rich, nuanced kabinett from the hot 2003 vintage that's put on some heft. Zingy acidity coupled with slippery, almost oily texture: classic aged German riesling, picking up some petrol to accompany citrus and mineral deliciousness. Brilliant food wine, picked up on release for under $20 and crazy good for that price.

Rhines & Rhones (Farpointe Cellar): I really liked the nose on this wine. It had a lot of earthiness upfront, followed by citrus fruit, and pineapple. The palate was too sweet for me, but it had nice pineapple fruit, citrus, and spice. The acidity was low, and the finish was long.

I probably kept this one too long. Ok. Not exciting at all. Not much going on. This has probably faded. Some sweetness. A decent riesling.
