I found this one hidden on the store shelf behind the 2011's. It had been sitting there for a while, judging by the sludge appearance on the bottom of the cork. Pretty consistent with previous notes... the blood orange thing with tart red fruits, a little bit of funk as well as baking spice. Decent complexity, ranging from fresh strawberry to stewed cherry fruit. Also some herbs in there as well. It's pretty tight on the palate. Initially very elegant with good fruit flavors, but the tannin gets a little harsh into the finish with a lot of grip that doesn't let up too easy, throwing off the balance for me. There's some substantial acidity here as well that I really enjoy. I enjoyed this more with my meal than after. That said, I would recommend this with food or let them sleep another year or two and hope for a reward in balance.

Solid wine at this price point. Medium body with full flavors including black cherries, blood orange and graham with complex earthy notes, mushrooms and herbs. Great balance with well rounded tannins and medium acidity. Very nice...

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity. The feel is pretty with tones of chalk, rhubarb, red berries, spices, and some underlying mineral tones.
Overall: This is a very pretty and balanced Pinot. It is lacking some depth on both the nose and palate, but it makes up for that with its softer touch.

Brought to Kathryn and Jeff's for wine tasting party, this was smooth, full bodied with lots of dark red fruit.

Willamette Valley Wines presents: Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL): Nose: There are some nice aromatic tones of chalk, rhubarb, red berries, cherries, and some spice tones.

Solid wine with minerals, forest floor, mushrooms and light fruits. Short to medium finish. Better than most at the $20 price point.
