  • I bought this as a close out through a local merchant based on how much I enjoyed the 2006 version. I can't say that this wine measured up at all. It displayed a more tangy taste to it, not the creamy texture that I was hoping for. For me, it had an "over the hill" scent on the nose, leading me towards a more "sour" on the palate experience than I was looking for. I suppose for $12 it will do, but no more.

  • Nose of minerals, apricot, nutmeg, and butter. Apple, pineapple on the palate. Nicely layered acidity, plenty of ripe apple on the finish complimented by oak and metallic notes. Enjoyable, but low QPR. Would not buy again at this price point.

  • Straw colour. My second PB experience, again melony, peachy 'chardonnay light' flavours but also a little more floral character. Perhaps there's a subtle minerality. The palate does not have the liquorice of the (different producer) previous bottle and is more 'correct', a tiny bit more acidity (although still off-dry in character). Very easy to drink. My summations so far about Alsatian PB are that they are great with Indian food and a very good aperitif, perhaps maximum one glass. I'm sure there're plenty of of other matches... nice wines at fair prices at the low price points so far.
