On first opening I thought this wine was way past due. But after an hour or so of air it came to life. Brought us back to when we bought it in Beaune. A very enjoyable old world Pinot. Wish we had one more bottle.

This is so much better than the 05, and a lot easier on the oak. Smells like a northern rhôner, with nicely defined and developing aromas of red and black forest berries, spice, herbs, liquorice, and tar. Really well balanced on the palate - fresh acids, light spicy tannins and a smooth mouthfeel. Walks and talks like an elegant côte-rôtie! Open for business now, drinks with ease, well priced too.
