I haven't had one of these since June 2012. My opinion is still the same (see 6/26/12 note). This is a medium body quaffer Cab with minimal personality. It is not flawed or badly made, just nothing special. For similar price, Chappellet Mountain Cuvee is a much better Napa wine.

Clear purple with ruby tint. Earthy nose of cedar, dark fruit, anise, and vanilla. Ripe palate of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, hoisin, licorice, and graphite. Very good length. Pleasant acidity. Mild oak. Supple tannins. Not a "typical" Napa cab in style. Very good, somewhat interesting wine. Not outstanding.

Better the second night- but always a decent bottle.
