Medium ruby/garnet with moderate bricking. Intense aromas of smoked meat/ olives/ white pepper on a baseline of plum and ripe cherry fruit. Medium(+) palate of red/ blue fruit with olives and no noticeable oak. Medium tannins are very well integrated and medium(+) acidity keeps this wine very harmonious on the palate. Full but yet at the same time light on the palate. This wine appears quite tamed down at this point - at its peak and possibly fading - I would recommend drinking now.

A fully mature Journaries with a classic Northern Rhone nose, though this one is more black olives and flowers than pepper and bacon; no longer has the feral punch that some young Levet wines can have (and that can turn some people off if you're pouring for a group); smooth tannins, delicate acidity, a real beauty

Not quite there yet. Still working its way out of the dumb/muted phase. Hold 3-5 years.
