  • Dark garnet in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of orange rind, floral notes of violets, earthy/dusty notes, spices, herbs, leather, iron, some tar, clay, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs, cocoa, minerals & cedar/oak. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but at 24 years old, it's at its peak of development, so drink up soon! Fill was in lower neck; cork was stained 1/4 but otherwise intact.

  • A wine is only as good as it’s storage history. This bottle opened tonigh was absolutely fantastic. Tannins still noted at first tasting and after opening up provided a fabulous addition to our Italian meal.
Light, elegant, smooth - and still very fresh; has roasted notes and some mature feel, but it is holding it's own ... very balanced and was such a pleasure to drink. Store well at temp and humidity my friends .

  • Good, but not exceptional like the last bottle. Notes of oak and blackberry, a little unbalanced.

  • Opened the bottle a short while ago and decanted it to avoid the sediment. The cork was partially soaked, but quite alright after all this time. The nose has that old wine smell (you’ll have to use your imagination) and the color is orange at the rim.

On the palate, it is very good, with lots of dark red fruits, mellow tannins and its Italian acidity, all intact.
