With rolled flank steak stuffed with provolone, spinach, roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, polenta. This is a big wine, lots of tannin still, definitely a darker fruited cabernet. I would say it holds up well against Napa cabs in the same or higher price range. Mauritson will be bottling more Cabernet from Rockpile down the road, probably a SVD from Cemetery which was replanted. These will be an interesting comparison. Reminds me of why Cabernet is often people's discovery wine, wherever they wind up.

Cigar box and dried cherries. The application of oak that tasted great three years ago now bullies the tertiary flavors about and is not to my style. But, make no mistake this is a fabulous wine, just on the downward slope.

Color deep purple. Nose upon opening was medium (-) surprisingly. On the nose caramel, decomposition and a hint of green bell pepper. On the palette, a dry, low acidity wine of mdium + body with medium + tannin and high alcohol. The finish was medium +, with high intensity flavor profile, blueberry, violets, cedar, spices (cinnamon). Very good to outstanding quality. Pleasant to drink now, but can age further
