Deep red with dark core. Extraordinary nose with smoked meat, black fruit, dried violets, and granite. Plenty of secondary gamey, truffle already showing. Same on the palate with immense savory characteristics. Long mouth watering finish.
Equally abundant measures of power, balance, complexity, and finesse.
There is no more simple way to say it:
This was an extraordinary bottle.
Early in its window. Should continue to develop over the next couple of decades.

Stunning. Beautiful over the course of 4 hours. Dark fruit. Earth. Leather. Balanced. Fine tannins. I didn’t plan on drinking the entire bottle, and yet here I am with a dead soldier in front of me. Served it on Easter with sous vide leg of lamb, roastie potatoes, and green beans with almonds. Perfect food wine, especially in quarantine. Made the day...and it was a helluva day to begin with.

Wow. Dark and brooding yet with a lightness. Smoked meats, leather, prunes, raisons soaked in port. Dark fruits. Chalk and limestone. Earthy. Good acidity. Tannins are coming out now after 30 mins. Tangy. 1 1/2 hours later tannins are smooth.
