This is now, at long last, coming around and has smoothed out considerably since my last note. It remains deeply coloured but now has a richer, spicer nose and is also much fuller and richer on the palete, with a satisfying blast of dark fruit and softened tanins. I would suggest drinking now, with a good decant, but it could be held a year or two yet.

Maybe this is in a dumb phase, but it really does not sing as a merlot based 2010 should in 2017. The nose offers only a rather "hot" hint of alcohol and on the palate, I fear the fruit is losing out to the residual tannins, which are predominant. Finishes short. It's OK with food, but something of a disappointment, despite the price of only about €9, as Fronsac can usually be relied on to produce interesting wines.

This bottle really took me with surprise as it is not how i would expect a Bordeaux to taste. The wine is really good and hold on for 3 evenings with no sign of degradation..so i think it can last a long time in the cellar also. I used Zalto Bordeaux glass, and i must say i have a hard time to tell what it smells like and taste like, i think i would say i find some elements that one can also find in a Fernet Branca, which in my head relates to some herbs ....and i guess the wine would pair nice with entrecote or pepper steak.

Dekantert en time.
