Dark ruby. Aromas of sweet cherries, plum and dark chocolate. Taste of raspberry jam, cheery and oak. Jammy tannins. Finish is lengthy and rounded. Only issue was the disintegrated cork. NI:4, FI:22, FC:8, B:4, L:4

Tastes of milk chocolate and firm tannins, liked it as it opened up over the course of a 2 hour dinner. Did not taste like your typical california cab with cassis and berry flavors. A unique expression of the region and grape, and worth trying but will likely not have my 2nd bottle again for a couple of years to see how it evolves in the bottle.

2009 cabs are drinking fine right now and Red Mare is no exception. It was a smooth drinker with notes of black current, a hint of licorice and Carmel. A little fruit forward but not overly sweet. The finish was short but well balanced. This one should cellar well but is ready to enjoy.

Not much nose or palate on day 1 even with lengthy decant. Day 2 came black currant , cassis and prune aromas. Approachable on the palate but still muted. Not much of a finish.

Takes three hours to open up. Blackberry and cherry nose. Licorice on attack, blackberry mid and then some oak and tannins on finish.
