This features intriguing aromatics. Graphite, hints of petrol, green peppercorns, tomato leaf, and blackcurrant juice...along with more traditional vintage Port notes, including blueberry and blackberry.
Very good freshness for its age. Still showing medium to medium plus acid. It had thrown a good deal of sediment. Based on these three bottles, recommend drinking over the next few years.

The Lyon 10 Year Tasting: 2008 Oregon Pinot Noir (Lyon Den): Decanted for 3 hours plus, this bottle did not have a killer crust. I wonder if the car ride down from Corvallis re-suspended anything? If so, I now recommend a good drive in the car before opening your VP's! Deep, dark, and luscious with some spice, stone and earth toning down the "jam". It spent the night (caught sleeping with oxygen) in the decanter and was great day 2. Now-2038.

2017 Friends & Family; 9/20/2017-9/23/2017 (Portugal): Dark ruby in color, Some really nice dark fruit notes of black cherry, tobacco leaf, and spices. The dark fruit carries over to the palate, with notes of rich blackberry and boysenberry. The tannins are pronounced on the mid-palate and roll through the very long finish.

This bottle showed much more powerfully than the one tasted in June 2017. Lush, densely packed, and powerful. Great balance, complex finish. 95-96.

Nose is very off with high ether notes. but the flavor is really off the charts, lots of spice and cinnamon, crazy value.
