I'm pretty bullish about this wine. When I opened and smelled the cork, there was an inviting young fresh fruitiness. The first taste had a lot of flavor for a wine in this price range. The color is light golden, much like a Pinot Gris. The nose has a hint of lavender, or is it Jasmine, before the light pineapple, mango, and grapefruit. A big mouth full gives you 2 sides of the Chardonnay argument, one side being, "hit it with some oak" with an oily, lanolin, semi rich flavor and mouth feel, the other being "keep it clean, with a green garden influenced, sharp and spicy, almost raw skinned gooseberry and lemon peel. I'm not a fan of those unoaked, probably under ripe Chardonnay's that taste like vegetables, and this one balances just enough of that characteristic, to make it interesting. Some pretty raw acidity. Maybe a little short and acidic on the finish. Refreshing, while still medium plus bodied.

nose: lovely pear, honeydew, a little citrus.
palate: lemon water with some orange and grapefruit rind thrown in. lingering finish of the citrus skins, with an almost spicy edge
dry. lovely acidity. delicate and perfumy, if thin and watery. not a comforting chardonnay, but interesting enough.

High-end average Chard with tasty oak-finish. Little oily/fatty feeling and would go well with rustic sea-food. New World style in a good way.

grapefruit, hay, floral notes, spicy AND creamy
semi rich mouthfeel, semi full bodied
very nice but leaves a watery mouthfell behind, so rating goes down from 85 to 83
