7th of 9, pnp, perfect cork and level, previous bottles very fine - pale but mature colour, leggy; tending to tropical fruit, fine tension and nervosity; light, very long but even more persistent, top quality, now fully mature but no rush. VF (18.5)…..just shows how poor are the 01s by comparison!

Blind, Gabriel standard We guessed Mosel, Ingo mentioned the producer. Very elegant, reluctant but the finish is long and precise. You don't feel the alcohol. Fresh, lime, wet stones. IN great condition. 94-95. The others rated higher

Classic developing Grünhaus aromatics; layers of pine needles, fresh herbs, stony mineral notes, fresh Riesling fruit and maturing smoky and petrol notes all coming together seamlessly on a very polished, graceful frame. It's moderately sweet (less than a lot of modern Spätlese) with bright acids that keep it very light on its feet, and amazing balance and persistence. Stunning Riesling.

Mature Grünhaus always has one of the most amazing aromas I've ever smelled in any wine, and this is no different. Just a spectacular fragrance here, that classic Grünhauser pine needle and forestal greenness combined with incredibly pure Riesling fruit, minerality, and mature smoky, earthy and herbal flavours. Absolutely seamless and very polished on the palate with moderate sweetness perfectly balanced by bright acidity, and incredible length. A real wow.
