This was also delicious, and a favorite around the table among the reds. Clearly Loire Cab Franc here, drinking a great window, but this has miles to go. The green notes of herbs right alongside the red fruit, and brightness just make this unique and delicious! Very fun to try one of these with a bit of bottle age.

Celebrating 60 (The NoMad): My favorite of this flight and reminded me a touch of the Monvigliero from the previous flight in that very herbal and almost spicy character as the dominant flavor. Background of black fruits. One of my favorite wines.

Opened in memory of Charly Foucault; RIP! I have thought previous bottles excellent but more Bordelais than Loire in character with their suave but discreet oak patina. No longer so atypical in its 20th year. Colour is still deep carmine with hardly any bricking. Nose was beautifully developed with refined aromas containing a lot of ripe raspberry but also that typical Loire touch, but very discreet here, of charcoal and bell pepper. On the the medium++ bodied palate, there was fine depth of fruit, continuation of the aromas from the nose, some flinty minerals, fresh acidity and a velvety texture leading to a long, full and fragrant finish. By now all traces of oak ageing were fully integrated. Excellent.

Lively, bright and elegant -- this seems to be in a perfect drinking window at the moment. Special wine for sure, very pretty!
