Decanted for about an hour. Big and in your face, but not as ,I have as it was on release. We used to love this stuff but moved away from it a few years ago. Every now and then it is nice to slum and go back to a big slutty wine.

Pleasantly surprised - was expecting a fruit bomb, but time must have mellowed this a bit. Decanted for about 1 hour prior to serving. Very funky, bretty nose - lots of barnyard and some band aid. Dark ruby red color, no sediment, quite clear. On the palate - dark cherries and raspberries, a bit of smoke and meaty gaminess, enough acid to keep it balanced. Still more of a fruit forward syrah, but enough balance for drinking enjoyment. These are definitely in the drinking window, but probably will hold for at least another 5 years.

Far too sweet and jammy. The black fruit preserves were so overwhelming that I had a hard time discerning any other characteristic. I brought this to a BYOB restaurant with limited decanting time and should have recorked it and hope that it would settle down a few days later, but I am not sure it would have. I have a couple of bottle left but I personally won't open them for at least 5-7 years in the hope of . . . something.

Had with rack of lamb. Drinking nicely now. Well balanced and did not find it to be fruit forward now with another year of age.

Nice structure. Excellent wine. Berry forward with lingering finish. Continue to cellar for a few more years.
