Showing some age and development, but still quite enjoyable. It depends what you want from Champagne. If you are looking for fresh, bright Champagne, then this is likely "past prime" for you. If you cellar and age Champagne to get that mushroom and bready complexity...this wine has arrived. That said, this bottle was my first from a 6-pack - in hindsight I should have had one or two bottles a few years back. I did taste the wine in its youth, and liked it very much - so probably should have gotten into my own 6-pack earlier to see the development over the years.

Deep straw yellow color. Mature. Bruised apple, candied ginger and some sort of spice, white pepper, or at least trending that way. Marshmallow, apple, cashew and brioche. Fine bead.

Bottle 2 of 2. Very pretty Champagne, consumed over 2 nights.Lots of autolytic, bread notes on top of lemon and green apple fruit. Nice and long finish, fine bubbles, overall quite good. Drink now.

Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (EBCC): Short mousse, medium bead, with apple and pear elements on the nose and palate. Simple.
