  This had a real vibrancy 3-4 years ago that has faded, though it's still a tasty CdR, just lacking that floral element as distinctly, with heavier fruit.

  Having visited this winery maybe made it a bit special, but it was really nicely balanced

  Not much change over the past year. This is not really an aromatic wine, it's more about structure and rustic flare. Still a dark ruby, light-medium body, and dry-ish profile. Dried cherry, plum, tobacco... pretty standard stuff, but it also has a nice mineral freshness and easiness to it. Very minimal oak. Short to medium length finish with some puckering effect. I still think this has more upside with another year or three of rest. 5+8+16+8 = 87

  PnP and then followed for several hours. Very dark ruby hue with bright radiance, 80% saturated, quick legs. The nose took about 2 hours to wake up and offer a nice potpourri of spices, floral notes, and the ground of origin. Light-medium bodied, soft and fuzzy tannins, and precise acidity create a canvas for the crushed rock and red fruit to showcase themselves. It is harsh and tart to start out of the bottle, but give it time and there is plenty of reward for OW fans. A definite pass for fruit bomb lovers. 5+10+16+7 = 88
