A terrific blend of Nero d'Avola and Syrah. I've had Firriato for years and their quality continues to improve. This Sicilian beauty is a great QPR-wine with sour cherry, tart raspberry, vanilla, wet stones, cedar, and a hint of burnt embers and crushed rock. Well balanced, and well integrated, this wine started to sing alongside a mushroom risotto. Not terribly complex, but it did get a bit better in the glass as the meal moved along. Drink thru 2009.
