  • tasted blind.again a discrepancy of opinion; others found it more impressive but to me it came across as raisiny and dull and when you take into account the price, its like diving by zero.

  • This was the right time to drink. Maybe even a bit past its peak for my bottle. Lovely subtle nose of red fruit and smooth, lingering pallet with nice acidity throughout - little to no tannin. At first bottle opening, body appeared moderate but became lighter over time. All in all, a very enjoyable Burgundy.

  • This is a very big wine. On the first day, one only picks up on the fresh spicy angularity of the nose: dark fruit. On the second, the wine becomes a monster on the palette. And too much of a monster? Possibly. Very dark fruit just on the edge of maderisation. Does it need more time? I am no Marcel Proust, nor was I meant to be. This wine is excellent now, stuck as it is between today and tomorrow. If you have a case of it, you might read it as a narrative, and one that has a future. But for me, this is my last bottle. Fin de partie.

  • Burg wine swap night. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of meat, iron, dark red cherries, black cherries. With air some mocha and boysenberry. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of muscle meat, iron minerality, dark red cherries, black cherries, savoury earth and salt. Long finish.
Very good quality. Plush and suave muscle mouth-feel without going over the top with the machismo. Drinking in a good place already now.

  • Pop and pour. Bold and refined with silky mouthfeel and nice balance of red fruit, earth, and nuts. Drinking well now.
