Was worried this one was passed prime but still fresh. This wine has substantial sediment and definitely needed air. However, subtle fruit, medium tannin and lengthy finish. Other comments were all over the board. Interesting as we enjoyed 2 bottles with similar result and enjoyment

Disappointing here, too. Had too much cooked fruit (age? Heat damage?). It kind of settled and evened as it got some air, but very forgettable blend at that point.

Needs 45 minutes of decanting, and then it is right in the zone. Should evolve further with another 2-3 years if you enjoy secondary flavors which are just now beginning to evolve. Tannins on opening are obtrusive but soften perfectly with a decant. Blueberry, chery, a bit of pencil box, and dry brush on the nose and palate. Medium length finish. Very nice.

This vintage has been all over the map for us ... This time we decanted 45 min after straining for sediment (substantial) and it was really singing by the time we sat down to dinner. The nose was muted, at best, but the wine itself was extremely fresh. Light cherries to open, sweetened, but intact, tannic background and medium-long finish with some chocolate and smoke. Really lovely stuff.
