Vintage: 2010 Grapes: Barbara % Alcohol: 12.5% Producer: Rosso Piceno Country & Region: Italy - Santa Barbara Price - $9.99
Appearance: Purple, but no super dark Nose: Smells lite, not overly rich
Overall: Tastes Pepper and Berry, however hot, needs to mature. There is nothing special about this wine, can taste some berries, and pepper not heavy or long lasting. Little hot finish. Average at best.

Interesting nose; notes of leather and earth, with a touch of green. Palate has some fruit, tart cherry of course, a touch of cranberry. Thin across the mid-palate, and a bit watery. This is a very acidic wine, with a surprisingly substantial dose of chalky tannins. The finish is rather harsh and generally uninteresting, with vegetal notes. Over time, it developed a bit of a concord grape juice note (which isn't a good thing). http://bit.ly/zdcFu2
