drinking beautifully, it's still got plenty in reserve. long night of drinking so no details but it was one of the better reds we had in an all-star lineup. 96-97

Boisson Vadot White Wines & A Mix of Old Red Burgundy (Paradise Valley, AZ USA): Served blind. Younger and more oaky at first than the previous wine (which turned out to be '78 Pommard Epenots). This went from being underwhelming to phenomenal with a bit of air. Correctly guessed '85 vintage and Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. This has wonderful black fruit, very classic Gevrey. I thought this was one of the more transparent Leroy wines I've had in some time, very little Lalou "signature" here and very Gevrey.

This bottle blew me away at the La Paulee Gala 2019. It was in excellent condition and from the little sip I got, I was transported to a quieter more reflective place!! The nose was superb, and the finish went on and on. It was one of if not THE WOTN for me.

La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Served alongside the Charmes--Chambertin, this wine has more density, but came across as slightly dirty, not quite pristine, and getting tired. Likely a bottle that suffered poor conditions at some point in the past 30 years.
