Dinner at Fragrant Garden (Fragrant Garden Restaurant, Serangoon): Yummy, but a bit dangerously advanced. The nose was attractive, but smelt like something a decade older, with sunny notes of stone fruit and ripe apple, touches of honey and caramel, and a little trail of Genevrieres’ flowers, all this lightly edged with just a little oxidation. The palate was a bit fresher than the nose suggested, with ripe apples and a little suggestion of sweeter stone-fruit flavours, again some light honeyed tones - certainly big and ripe, but also laced with a sneaky bit of bright acidity and just a little lick of mineral, before a warmer touch of nuttiness came out at the finish. There was a lovely depth and a bit of power to this. It threatened to be a little blowsy with all that fleshy fruit, but there was just enough freshness to keep this on the right side of balanced. This bottle was on a the precipice of going down the premox route though - any others in similar condition should be drunk up at pace.

Light yellow color, floral nose, on the palate lemon, yellow fruit with some exotic hints, mineral, excellent balance, a pure pleasure, no hurry, this one can go far.

White fruit, mainly pear, lemon, stony, middle density with good length.

Blind tasting chez Said: white fruit (apples and pears), salinity, needs air to unfold, I would give it another 2-3 years of cellaring.

More advanced compared to the last bottle a month ago: deep yellow color, slightly oxidized, earthy, some lemon, good but not on the same level.
