Vancouver Confrerie Chapitre des Valentines (Five Sails - Vancouver, BC): Quite rustic and muddy on the nose, showing aromas of black cherry, spicy black pepper, and red currants. More black cherries and black pepper come through on the palate, along with some kirsch, blueberry, and a touch of floral violet. Plenty of sharp acidity, with a medium- length finish ending on notes of kirsch and violet. Dusty and muddy on the nose, while the palate was an improvement, it wasn't by very much. OK

Light transparent red. Sweet and sour juicy wine. Red berries and a whiff of forest floor. I do not believe this has more aging potential, drink up. Good wine.

Hazy notes, as I was cooking and entertaining while sipping on this. Had with BBQ salmon, very nice match. Nice pinot, with a nice strawberry and sous bois nose, medium bodied on the silky palate, with more strawberries and cranberries. NIce, but not memorable (B+).
