  • The wine took an interesting development over a couple of hours. Directly after opening quite woody, after a couple of hours in the decanter it closed a bit down and used some additional hours to open up. However, the wine only became really harmonious on the second day - then everything is in place: Dark, ripe cherry, balsamic, with lots of melting. Long finish, finely woven tannine where the wood is perfectly integrated. Beautiful.

  • Surprisingly dark colour, excellent fruit and acidity, nicely integrated tannins, balanced with length. Great wine that can take another 10 yrs in the cellar if you have the patience

  • A Wonderful Retirement Dinner Celebration (Los Olivos, CA): Never had a chance, with a 4-hour decant insufficient for the wine even to budge. What it did show was impressive concentration in a masculine expression of the grape. Touches of mint and licorice, but that was it.

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby colour, with garnet rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with pronounced intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry, red fruit of plum and cherries, floral notes of rose, oak notes of cedar, pungent spice of liquorice, sweet spice of numeg, mineral notes of earth and tar, maturity notes of savoury and truffle. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium (+) alcohol, medium body and medium (+) intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry, red fruit of cherries, maturity notes of savoury, oak notes of cedar, mineral notes of earth, sweet spice of nutmeg. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Langhe Nebbiolo with an amazingly intense nose showing aromas of high complexity, the wine has wonderful nose and palate, best to consume after a day of opening, with the palate showing good vibrancy with the acidity, the tannin ripe and silky smooth, with good concentration of complex flavours and finishing with a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now and can further develop for another 4-6 years.

  • Kul att få gå tillbaka och prova detta vin igen, det är fortfarande i sin tidiga mognadsfas men ack så gott. Verkligen ett vin i min stil.
