Decanted for about an hour. Consumed with food and on its own. Seems to have shed most of its tannins. The bottle had a lot of coating of tartrates and stuff along with sediment. What emerges is a more of a medium body wine. Nice fruit but still with some backing. Drinking well imo but is balanced enough to go a on. 92+

Decanted 3 hours. Dark red. Aromas of blackberries, licorice and tar. Palate more medium-bodied than expected, slightly lush with lots of blue and black fruits and somewhat elegant tannins.

Exploding with fruit--purple and blue. Tannins have softened considerably, making this easy to drink now, and it would seem it has many years ahead.
Drank alongside the 2010, and they were quite similar, though I modestly preferred the 2009. The 2010 had a bit more harsh tannins, and possibly some light green notes.

Initial impressions: this is a beautiful PS. It's got the blackberry and floral notes that this variety can do at its best, along with a very nicely balanced acidity and just a bit of tannin, at least shortly after opening the bottle.
Day 2 this is just as elegant and refined. A fantastic wine.

Polished with the unexpected subtle flavors Turley manages to coax out of this notoriously brute grape. Liked it.
