Shows more sign of age on the nose than the eye. Meaty, stewed, aged smell. That all blows off a bit after decanting. Nose still shows age with meaty, leathery, smokey notes dominating. Still some herbal notes and prune / raisins.
Was surprised by initial sweet, fruity, plum, berry notes on the palate. That fades into all the secondary notes indicated by the nose pretty quickly. Nice and interesting flavor profile. Lots going on. Texture was a little lean, tannin is present but waning and so the wine does not completely coat the palate or provide velvety texture I look for at the moment.
Drank with braised lamb shanks, a great match. Don't have many reference points for wines of this age or from this part of the world but I really enjoyed this.

Popped and poured with the Marks last nite. Lovely example of nicely aged CdP. Pale ruby red in color. Moderate nose of red berries, herbs and spices. Ripe red berries, dried fruit, a bit on the herbal side with some barnyard and a pleasant earthiness. Lovely spices and good length, and some dryness on the finish. Very enjoyable.

Still a fresh Color with a brown hint. Good balance. Raisins, red cassis good length. A typical mature C9dp

Pleasantly surprised this bottle had a good balance of acidity to fruit. Not as tired as my previous bottle I scored 87.
