  Love this wine.
  Still years before it shows you everything it has. Red fruit flavors with cherry and hints of raspberry. Completely balanced and long on the palate.

  Comparable to 12/10/18 note, still surprisingly youthful and punchy. Concentrated and a bit tight. Blossoms somewhat after an hour or so. RIP JV, thank you for everything.

  Bottle had excellent ullage. Light ruby color with brown edge. Early barnyard funky smell followed by black cherries. Nicely balanced with excellent length and a rich mid palate feel. After an hour of aeration, there was a full rich flavor with leather, plums, and a classic mature Burgundy taste. Ready to drink now.

  Youthful, fresh, bright. Nose is blue-fruited with some florals and mild vanilla spice. Sweet blue fruit palate too. Great balance right now and bottles like this will definitely last a long while. Pleasantly high toned. Served after a banner Rousseau Chambertin lineup and still very good. 92-93.

  So, I've never had a mature Drouhin Griottes before, and I'm still not sure that I have. This wine was entirely youthful - fresh vibrant wild cherry fruit, so ripe and juicy, and still so focused and with intense energy and drive. This wine had a savageness to it, a wild wind-swept after a day at the beach it's hair is messy and sandy but it's more beautiful for it kind of character. I loved it and want more.
