Brawny and strident out of the gate. Decanted for two hours. Mellowed a bit over the hours but still strong and delicious. Many years yet to improve in the bottle. Should wait at least two years for next one.

Medium dark garnet. Nose of tar and rose. Dark red and black cherry, tar, black licorice, and oak. Moderate tannins. Very good on day one and two, but this has a just entered a decade long drinking window. 14.5% abv.

Mineral and spice box notes, but restrained and still tasting quite young which is surprising at nearly 11 years old. Mid-weigh tannis.

Opened two hours before drinking. Red berries, tar and roses. Strong backbone. More integrated now, but still in its early life.
