Herbal, floral, minty nose with a bit of polish. Sweet cherries and rose petal on the palate backed by a wall of mouth-coating tannins. The finish has dark, almost sour, spiced cherry fruit in abundance. Good balance. This has plenty of legs. Double decanted then left to breathe for a couple of hours and still full of life.

Opened the bottle up about 4 hours in advance of dinner, ultimately pouring from the bottle. It went from a rusty color that was moderately opaque to brilliantly clear garnet in about an hour. The wine started off with significant tannins that were off-putting as they ruined the somewhat minty finish which was otherwise lengthy. During dinner the wine opened completely in the glass and proved to be a wonderful pairing with the Seasoned Rack of Lamb and Duck Fat Potatoes we were served. The dark fruit dominated on the front palate, with chocolate, tobacco, light touches of vanilla and oak, with the slightest hint of mint completing the flavor profile. Medium weighted, the wine had a solid finish that reminded me of being in the hills of Piemonte just after dusk! Wish I had more than just a single bottle in my cellar.

Some Marc de Grazia Barolos and Brunellos: Nose: This shows off fairly well right off the bat with deep tones of dark red cherries, licorice, dark red fruits, spice tones, and some roasted herbs as well with a touch of oak on it as well.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium/high acidity and very chewy tannins. The structure is on the punishing side right now, but there are robust tones of dark red cherries, licorice, roasted herbs, wild spices, and some oak lying underneath the big structure right now.
Overall: This will certainly need to lay down. The structure is imposing though the nose is relatively open. There is excellent depth on both the nose and palate with the underlying materials showing a very impressive wine that can emerge with time.

This is good with the right amount of roses and mint. Elegance as well.
