Maturing fruit nose with a veil of oak... a little animal. Tart cherry palate at first, giving way to a generous wash of dark, spiced fruit and medium body. Extremely long finish with a mineral tang. Firm, suave tannin says "you can leave me for a couple more years" and the concentration of the fruit convinces me of that.

Lunch at Sun Wah (Chicago, IL): There's something Ponsot-like about the Lucien Le Moine wines that I just don't love. The fruit is pushed to a very ripe level, and then it doesn't age as well. This tasted a fair bit older than it ought to have, and it doesn't have as much of the elegant red fruit that I want in a 2010 red Burgundy. A nice spicy element on the nose, but this is a little too fat for my taste. I have some strong doubts about the ageability here.

Had two bottles over the course of a week, one via Coravin over a few days, the other with family over dinner. Both drank spectacularly well. Not quite the depth or complexity of the very best Burgundy, but deep and rich with a tiny hint of sweetness on the tongue. Agree with both KVM's notes on flavour, and LWI's comment that tasted blind this is more Vosne than Volnay.
Ready to drink now with fruit showing beautifully, but with lots of time left as there's no browning or oxidation on the palate.

Tasted outside on a cool breezy evening. The 2012 and 2010 showed oak. The ‘10 more giving and with sweetness of fruit. The ‘12 is firmer.

Medium color. Nose is mellow, ripe maturing fruit wrapped in a soft sheet of oak. It is approachable, melllow, tannin resolved - surprisingly mature.
