Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 87.8 points

  • Incredibly bright in the glass at age 10. Likewise very bright on the nose with youthful, crisp lemon-driven fruit, a nice touch of dry oak, slight nuttiness and crush rock. On the palate medium-bodied and very firm with nice tension. Somewhat on the neutral side but with just enough fruit to match up with the smoky wood. Greatly youthful and energetic, this does not show its age at all. Not massively long but otherwise well-rounded and charming with a delicious lingering saltiness.

  • 13% alcohol. Tasted blind.

Pale, rather neutral yellow-green color. Fresh and somewhat neutral-ish nose, yet it is obvious the wine has seen some oak. Precise aromas of ripe white fruit, some creamy oak tones, a little bit of sawdust, light golden apple tones and a hint of stony minerality. The wine is fresh, precise and surprisingly youthful on the palate with flavors of ripe white peach, some sweet golden apple tones, a little bit of creamy oak, light tangy notes of salinity, a hint of stony minerality and a touch of savory wood spice. The crisp, high acidity lends great sense of intensity and structure to the wine. The finish is crisp, lively and quite long on the palate with flavors of tart green apples, some creamy oak tones and savory wood spice, a little bit of zesty citrus fruits, light notes of pineapple, mineral hints of wet stones and tangy salinity and a touch of crunchy star fruit.

This was remarkably youthful an effort for its age - my first guess was 2017 and I didn't venture far from there, which I was so surprised to learn that this was actually 2010! Honestly, the wine didn't show any signs of age and drunk like a freshly released bottle. The overall style is wonderfully fresh and precise with a perfectly balanced trio of crunchy acid-driven neutrality, restrained sweeter notes of ripe fruits and judicious use of oak, all wrapped around a core of saline minerality. Upon opening the fruit department was a bit too neutral, letting the oak tones take a bit too big of a role, but it didn't take much time for the fruit to emerge - and after that, the wine was just singin'. This is a terrific white Burgundy that definitely needs much more time, based on how very youthful - even backward - the wine is at the moment. Terrific now, but will continue to improve for years more; expect the score to go up with age. Remember to let the wine breathe for awhile. A steal at 18,90€. Highly recommended.

  • very good very elegant and definitely in a nice place because of the age. this drinks just a notch below a good meursault, it has wonderful minerality on the back end. this didnt show its full potential too cold or on pop and pour. it needed some air to really get going.

this is not a wow wine. it's old world and the fruit is waning although still present and pleasing. it is complex and pairing it with fish is your best call.

i want more of this for the price ($30) for sure.

  • Metallic, wet steel, mineral, hint of lime, fresh cut flower on the nose. Medium to heavy weight surprisingly. Minerals, hints of citrus, metal, flavors. Quite acidic.
