This bottle was near perfect for Bourgogne. Great deep color with just a touch of brick. Nose of ripe red fruits, autumn leaves, truffle, smoke and a distinct iron-meat note. Medum bodied, velvety and rather sophisticated for generic wine. Excellent balance with just a bit too much wood at the back end but overall, a beautiful wine for this level and easily at the level of most producers village or even premier cru. Bravo!

(Groffier Robert - Père et Fils Bourgogne Rouge) Slightly animale nose with primary black fruit. For a Bourgogne this has excellent density and very good acidity. The tannins are quite grainy with blackberry and raspberry fruit. This is very nice wine and excellent Bourgogne.
