I held this wine back. I purchased it out of a 22 way Cali Cab '02 tasting as my "wild card" after Ehlers, & Chateau Souverain. I was looking for restrained balance.. and this was more vegetal green pepper. And Pine Ridge was way over the top, stylistically. The first bottles I opened over the years were... as expected.... green pepper & compost. I had not much enthusiasm when I popped this last bottle for some friends.... but ... Wow. Did it ever sing! Such a beautiful balance of oak & berry & tannin & acid.... just now morphing into what an '84 Heitz Martha's Vyd already is.... liquid bacon. This wine was Super Delish.... and I'd buy a case more to drink just 2 like this was. But... that's the opposite of consistency....

Muted fruit flavors, tannins so smooth they are almost not there. Drinkable, but not memorable.

Not much more than oak with a very little red plum. Lucky it was only $25. About what it is worth.

Nice and smooth, nothing to blow you away. Maybe rather bland for my palate these days.
