Nose: Raspberry, pomegranate, cinnamon, soft earth, some sweet baking spices after opening up.
Palate: Tart raspberry and stony mineralality.
This shows great richness upon first opening, but quickly shows its structure and could use a year or two to smooth out the mid palate acid and rear tannins. That being said, this shows tremendous promise and as someone mentioned in a previous note, it's hard to believe this is just a Bourgogne and not a village wine. I think given a couple years the palate will begin to reflect a little more of what the nose shows and this will be a tremendous value Burgundy.

Medium ruby in color, this wine flaunts nice aromatics of wild berries, dried herbs and crushed rocks. It is light-to-medium-bodied on the palate, with fresh acidity, light dusty tannins and nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 12.5%). The flavors mirror the nose and remain solid throughout the middle. The wine concludes with a medium-length, slightly dry finish. This lower-end Pinot reflects the overall quality of the 2010 vintage in Burgundy. Enjoy it over the next three years. Drink now-2016.

This offered a totally different experience than my previous bottle. A solid Bourgogne rouge and a major bargain.

Very polished and round for a Bourgogne, 2010s rock across the board. Earthen notes and sappy red fruit, hard to believe it's a lowly Bourgogne.
