A really enjoyable wine with lots of life ahead. It's not a classic nebbiolo but it's a lovely wine in its own right. Lots of cherry and balance. Definitely benefits from a long decant.

Great nose of ripe cherry, flowers, dusty earth and old library books. Palate is mostly about the fruit, with ripe black cherry and plum taking hold on the front and mid-palate, while a pleasant earthiness complements the red fruit finish. Medium body, mostly resolved tannin and fresh acidity still keeping things taut. I found the finish to be a bit short otherwise would've scored this 90-91.

I loved it. Reportedly past it's prime, but really pleasing and no regrets. Bought the last remaining bottles at the winery. Another year will likely be too long, me thinks. Exceptionally clean. The most likable American Nebbiolo by far. Too bad they stopped producing this one. Another wonderful memory from Au bon climat...

The complex esters ( use wikepedia,) developed over the years, give this wine a magnificient stature. It will not win too many blind tasting competitions, but the subtle nuances of this wine can only be appreciated by an experienced wine enthusiast, versed in the art of cellaring. Who cares if it is cherry or prunes, this wine gives me an overall, warming, feeling of well-being. Did I mention its delicious.
